David Newman appointed as Managing Director of Carole Nash
Former Co-operative Financial Services Marketing Director David Newman has been appointed Managing Director of Carole Nash Insurance Consultants, the UK’s largest specialist motorcycle insurance intermediary.
David Newman, 42, brings extensive financial services expertise and experience to the company which is one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers. In his previous role he was Marketing Director for Co-operative Bank, the internet banking operation smile and for Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS), where he was responsible for around 100 staff with a remit that included all marketing as well as e-business, channel planning, product development, management and pricing across the three Co-operative brands.
Commenting on the appointment, Carole Nash’s Chairman, Pierre Lefèvre, said: “We are delighted to have attracted such a high calibre individual to fulfil what is a very demanding role in what is a dynamic and successful business. David brings high level executive experience from one of the UK’s biggest and most respected financial organisations, together with tremendous expertise in brand development having worked with some of the UK’s most loyal and trusted businesses.”
David Newman said he was excited by the new role. “Carole Nash is already a successful business which has earned the respect and loyalty of bikers and the financial services community. Such a strong and respected brand presents a great opportunity for us to grow the business so that its market-leading success in the motorcycle sector may be repeated across a variety of other lines. Having such a trusted brand is vital in establishing a successful, long term presence online.”
The appointment comes following the recent departure by mutual consent of former Managing Director, Allister Hill, who steered the company through its acquisition from the Nash family by Groupama UK last December and has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Commented Pierre Lefèvre: “We are very grateful to Allister for his leadership both during and following the acquisition by Groupama and for his support and commitment in ensuring a very smooth hand-over to David. He made a great contribution to the business and we wish him well for the future.”
