Search announced to find the best bikes in the British biking community

Today sees the launch of a new consumer photographic competition called ‘Britain’s Got Biking Talent’ run by leading motorcycling magazine, MotorCycle News (MCN) and the UK’s biggest motorcycle insurance specialist, Carole Nash www.carolenash.com. The competition will run to find the best bike from the British biking community to feature in the 2008 Carole Nash calendar which will be distributed to 150,000 bike fans nationwide.

MCN and Carole Nash want people to upload pictures of their stunning machines onto www.motorcyclenews.com’s ‘Rate My Bike’ section to stand a chance of winning great prizes and having their bike immortalised in next year’s calendar. Mark Potter MCN Editor comments, “We want to see all sorts of bike images from trickedup sports bikes, in-your-face choppers and hardcore streetfighters, to lovingly restored or tastefully modified classics, ultra-rare models and any other type of bike that makes jaws drop”.

The Carole Nash calendar is a “must have” for committed British bikers and traditionally features the world’s finest and most exotic motorcycles. This will be the first time the motorcycle insurance giant has opened up its pages to the biking public. “We know from the countless bike shows we attend that British bikers’ skills and passion mean their bikes can compete with any machine from anywhere in the world,” comments Carole Nash’s Director of Marketing, Warren Dickson. “Through Britain’s Got Biking Talent we want to find, celebrate and reward those hidden icons”.

As well as appearing in the calendar winners will also get VIP passes to November’s International Motorcycle and Scooter Show where the top 12 bikes will be officially unveiled to the Press. They will also each be presented a professionally shot picture of themselves and their bike.

For anyone with a passion for biking, this is a ‘must do’ competition as in addition to the prizes listed above, first prize will also be a trip of a lifetime to a Moto GP anywhere in the world with flights and accommodation included.  Second prize offers a top of the range helmet from leading brand Arai and third prize is a specialist motorcycle confidence training course run by MCN.

Leading celebrity bikers (to be confirmed soon), Mark Potter the MCN Editor and Warren Dickson, Director of Marketing at Carole Nash will be selecting the winning 12 entries from a short list voted for by members of the general public with a passion for biking.  The short list will be drawn up during August via the ‘Rate My Ride’ section of MCN’s state of the art website www.motorcyclenews.com.

To be in with a chance of winning all you need to do is register yourself on www.motorcyclenews.com by clicking ‘register’ at the top of the page. Fill out the simple form and you’re ready to go. Click on the ‘Community’ link on the top of the page, and scroll down to see an example of ‘Rate My Bike’. Click on ‘Upload your bike’, fill out some details for your bike and upload some pictures. MCN suggests choosing images have been taken in good light against a clear background, without anybody sitting on it. Once your bike is uploaded, MCN users will be able to rate your bike from one to five, and post comments. You’ll also be able to do the same to other people’s pride and joy.
